Atsushi joined the University of Maryland, College Park in August 2026 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, with affiliations in the Brain and Behavior Institute and the Neuroscience and Cognitive Science (NACS) Program.

He received his PhD from the University of Oregon with Ulrich Mayr and completed his postdoctoral training with David Badre at Brown University, while also being affiliated with the RIKEN Center for Brain Science in Japan.

Sol will join the lab in November 2026 as the lab manager.

They received their Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience from Drexel University, where they trained as a researcher alongside Dr. Evangelia Chrysikou and colleagues.

Seoyoung is a junior majoring in Electrical Engineering and on the Pre-Medicine track at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research interests lie at the intersection of psychology, human cognition, neuroimaging, and engineering, with a particular interest in adolescent psychology and developing engineering devices that improve people's quality of life.

Ashlyn is a recent graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Her research interests center on cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging, with a particular focus on decision-making, cognitive control, and understanding how neural systems support learning and complex behavior.

Nathan is a sophomore majoring in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience and on the Pre-Medicine track at the University of Maryland, College Park. His research interests include cognitive processes, human behavior, cognition, and learning.

Sienna is a junior majoring in Psychology (B.S. track) and minoring in Spanish at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research focus centers on developmental cognitive psychology and cognitive control, with a particular interest in mental health and neurodevelopment.

Tim is a sophomore majoring in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience at the University of Maryland, College Park. His research interests include psychopathology, with a particular focus on neurocognitive disorders, as well as social cognition.
